       I am an energetic leader who is motivated, dedicated, and committed to delivering the public leadership that you deserve. I will proudly serve Calloway County Kentucky by providing you with the most important duty that an elected official can offer this community. As Calloway County District 3 Magistrate I will give you a voice! I will be able to access key local leaders for your benefit. I will carry your message straight to those who can resolve key community issues. Elect me as your next Magistrate and I will do everything possible to make this community safe, strong, and healthy.    

 

Magistrate Duties and Roles:       

 

       The Magistrate’s job is to responsibly spend Calloway County’s tax dollars. In Kentucky, the local magistrate sits on the County Fiscal Court determining the budgets for county departments and offices. In Calloway County the Magistrate is responsible for determining the budgets for the County Jail, Calloway County Sheriff’s Department, Circuit Court Clerk, Calloway County Clerk, Property Valuation Administration, and the Calloway County Road Department. The Magistrate must clearly understand the task of each department, their mission, and approve budgets in a fiscally responsible manner. This requires educated decision making, attention to detail, interpersonal communication, negotiation skills, and a sense of duty focused on the public good.

       A significant duty of a Kentucky Magistrate is bargaining for road repair funding at the annual Kentucky Legislative session in Frankfort Kentucky. This important duty requires all of the skills and experience that I possess. Your Magistrate must fully understand the issues, conduct intensive research, and make informed statements that will secure road repair and maintenance funds for our county. As the only candidate with experience working with the Calloway County Road Department it is in your best interest to elect a Magistrate who truly understands what it takes to be successful. 

       An additional significant duty for a Magistrate is nominating members of the Calloway County Hospital Board. Your Magistrate must be educated in all aspects of health care and make a concerted effort to conduct research on the local, state, and national level. The Magistrate must carefully consider the hospital board appointees vetting them for their education, fiscally responsibility, and their sense of duty in seeking high quality health care for our citizens.
